抄録

An electrophoretic variation of the chicken plasma alkaline phosphatase was observed in the region migrated more anodally than that of the fast component reported by Law and Munro (1965). Some of chickens possessed a band in the region, while the others lacked it. Mating experiments suggest that the band is controlled by a resessive allele (Akp-2a) and a dominant allele (Akp-2o) at an autosomal locus. The band appears in plasma of the bird homozygous for the allele Akp-2a.<br>Gene frequency of Akp-2a in Barred Plymouth Rocks, commercial egg-type hybrid chickens (Rhode Island Red×Rhode Island White), White Leghorns, and commercial meat-type hybrid chickens (White Cornish×White Plymouth Rock) was 0.54, 0.52, 0, and 0, respectively.
