The author studied on the relation between the amount of drifting ice and the last day of drifting ice at Abashiri and increasing and decreasing index calculated from the pressure of Sapporo, Nemuro, Urakawa and Haboro.<BR>The results are as follows : <BR>1. Generally at Abashiri, the relation between the amount of drifting ice and wind remarkably different from those of February or of March. <BR>2. Increasing and decreasing index of March closely related to the last day of drifting ice.<BR>3. The long-range forecast of the last day of drifting ice greatly depends upon the forecast of the pressure distribution.
