Abstract
Parameters m and β have been treated usually by the form (m+β) in the theoretical analysis of discontinuous deformation of alloys.<BR>Several methods for the separation of (m+β) into individual have been reported in the literature. We propose a new method of separation by the introduction of the flow stress dependence of the mobile dislocation density. Application of this method to Al-Mg, Al-Zn and 7075-Al alloys showed its justification.<BR>Experimental values of (m+β) are in good agreement with the calculated values by this method. Individual values of m and β are presented.
