The author has measured the numerical age of glacial deposits composing the terminal moraines at the bottom of the Senjojiki and Nogaike cirques, in the northern part of the Kiso mountain range, central Japan, by the bellium-10 (10Be) exposure dating method. 10Be is one of the in situ cosmogenic radionuclides (in situ CRNs) yielded by the bombardment of the morainic gravel with a cosmic ray, and 10Be concentration of the collected gravels shows the period of the bombardment. Many morainic boulders from each moraine have shown the contiguous values of the exposure age (17-25ka), and this age is correlated with the last glacial maximum stage. It is concluded that these moraines were formed during the last glacial maximum. Since the measured ages are in close proximity to each other, the 10Be exposure age method is expected to apply well to the age determination of morainic deposits.
