Abstract
This paper presents the modeling and computer simulation of automatic pouring processes using a tilting-type machine, taking into account fluid behavior. A mathematical model was built using two-dimensional continuity and Navier-Stokes equations appling tank rotation, and a SOLA-MAC simulator was used to analyze the fluid behavior. The validity of the model was confirmed by laboratory experiments using of water model, and good agreement was found. The effect of the tank's rotary shaft position on sloshing (liquid vibration) was studied through the fluid behavior during and after pouring. Furthermore, a new simple pendulum-type model was built to facilitate the control design for reducing residual vibration in pouring processes. The proposed pendulum model agreed well with the SOLA-MAC simulation results.
