Description
Up to this time the testing values about the running quality of metals and alloys are generally discussed in connection with the casting temp. or the degree of super-heating. The degree of super-heating is the temp.-differnce of the casting temp. and the liquidus point. <br> It is considered right that the casting temp. and the degree of super-heating are not suitable for this purpose, because the temp. of liquidus point and the temp.-difference of liquidus and solidus and some physical properties of colloidal state in the solidification range of alloys have a wide difference each other. I propose the correction for the degree of super-heating of alloys. This corrected degree of super-heating is the sum of the degree of super-heating and a half of the temp.-difference of liquidus and solidus. I believe that for the base of discussion about the running quality of alloys this corrected degree of super-heating is more suitable than the casting temp. and the degree of super-heating.
