Abstract

We have completed the modernization of No.4 paper machine, which was originally started in 1960. This machine is mainly producing fine paper.<BR>We remodeled the headbox for purpose of the quality improvement and the cost reduction. The existing headbox was replaced with new concept the SimFlo-D headbox (Dilution Headbox). This paper machine with SymFlo-D was first installed in Japan. Then, we achieved our aim according to expectation and ave continuing operation favorably.<BR>We report mainly control relation on the characteristic and the operational experience of this system and so on mainly.
