Abstract
Space and time resolved measurements of the electron density are made on a linear turbulently heated plasma using an optically pumped CH3OH laser interferometer. It is observed that the maximum density reaches as high as 1015cm-3, and that the density decay process after the heating current has decayed, is governed by diffusion along the magnetic field.
