抄録

An explanation on discharge cleaning and surface conditioning in nuclear fusion devices is given. Problems are described from practical view points for readers to consider the wall conditioning of machines near to them. Features of cleaning methods, especially of the glow discharge and the ECR discharge cleaning methods, are compared.
