Abstract

Post-polymerization by the addition of various solvents to long chain monomers after irradiation in the urea canal complexes was investigated. The polymerization occurred nearly quantitatively by the addition of highly viscous solvents, more easily than by the addition of cooled methanol. This post-polymerization occurs when the monomers are released by the dissolution of the urea canal. It is deduced that the decreased termination rate and the increased life-time of growing chain radicals in high viscosity solvents increase the polymerizability of monomers.
