抄録

The permeation characteristics of Nylon 12 membranes obtained by casting 20-% m-cresol solution of Nylon 12 were investigated with regard to the effects of membrane preparation methods and of permeation conditions. The microporous structure of the resulting membranes was influenced remarkably by the amount of water absorbed into the casting solution during evaporation process. The permeation characteristics were also significantly affected by the composition of water/methanol mixed solvent used as gelation medium. Both the permeation rate and the rejection were dependent on the feed concentration, operating pressure, temperature, and molecular weight of the feed solute. These results were explained on the basis of feed viscosity and effective pressure. The difference in permeation characteristics between aqueous solutions of poly (ethylene glycol) and poly (vinyl alcohol) would be caused by the differences in the form of polymer molecules in aqueous solution and in the interaction between the polymer molecules and the membrane substrate.
