Measurements of heat transfer coefficients during condensation of Refrigerant-113 pure vapor in a 12.7mm I. D. vertical copper tube are presented for a total mass velocity from 153 to 194kg/(m^2・s), quality from 1 to 0.2, and film Reynolds number from 400 to 3000. The results are compared with previous prediction methods for turbulent/turbulent film condensation. Furthermore, a dimensionless equation and nomographic method for prediction of the heat transfer coefficient and frictional pressure drop during condensation inside vertical tubes, based on a hydrodynamic model of the annular flow pattern and turbulent analogy, are proposed.
