6-R-1, 3, 5-triazine-2, 4-dithiol and 4, 6-bis R-1, 3, 5-triazine-2-thiol (R: N(i-C3H7)C6H4NHC6H5, NHC6H2(t-C4H9)2OH) were found to show the reactivity as crosslinking coagent on butadiene-rubber crosslinking with MBTS, MBTS-S or peroxide to give a crosslinked butadiene rubber in which 6-R-1, 3, 5-triazine-2, 4-dithio crosslinks and 4, 6-bis R-1, 3, 5, -triazine-2-thio pendants were formed. The resulting crosslinked products were confirmed to retain an aging resistant property even after solvent extraction. Such a nonextractable antioxidant property was never observed on the products containing the conventional antioxidant such as N-phenyl-2-naphthylamine. Some typical crosslinking formulations which gave the crosslinked products with a nonextractable antioxidant property were presented for SBR, NR, NBR and EPDM.
