Abstract

We have studied particulary on the properties of Texaco black as reinforcing filler on NR-SBR blending compounds. As the results of our studies, it was found that the compounds of Texaco black is especially superior on the modulus to EPC black in proportion to increasing of SBR contents, and has superior anti-oxidizing effect from the results of geer oven tests and that the Mooney viscosity of the former is from 1.5 to 2.0 times as large as the latter, and the shrinkage of the former is very small. Texaco black was treated with severral amines, cation surface active agents and dispersive agents in water. We have also found that the treatment with amine solution is most effective than the other treatments and that oil extended SBR compounded Texaco black is superior than both that of EPC black and HAF black on the modulus, especially.
