Abstract

We deal with the problem of determining the thickness of rubber vibration isolators which are used to prevent the transmission of vibrations from selecting lattices. The vibrations are caused when materials transported by a conveyor, fall down on the selecting lattice which is provided to sort the material.
Fig. 1 shows a sketch of this apparatus. A is the selecting lattice. The falling materials land on the lattice and are sorted by it. The larger grains remain on the lattice and slide on it toward the left side and are transported by conveyor C toward the direction shown by the arrow. The smaller ones fall down through lattice and are transported toward the direction shown by the arrow on conveyor D. Under these working conditions the lattice A is subjected to forced vibrations by continuously colliding materials which fall down from above.
In order to prevent the vibration being transmitted from the lattice to its foundation, we insert the rubber vibration isolators (B in Fig. 1) between them. We determined thickness of these rubber vibration isolators to prevent the vibration.
