In order to study the viscoelastic properties of steroregular polymer, measurements of resilience were made on polypropylene by Dunlop Tripsometer over a temperature range of -70°C to 200°C. It was associated that β absorption observed at -60--40°C was corresponded to motion of short segments as γ transition of polyethylene, and α absorption, observed in the vicinity of 0°C, was corresponded to the segmental motion of long chains. Rapid decreasing of resilience over about 100°C was associated with absorption related to crystalline melting. The higher transition temperature of polypropylene, as compared with related transition of polyethylene, may be mainly due to increasing of intermolecular force.
