抄録

In recent years, polymeric materials play important roles in industrial field, and high quality functional materials are used in many applications. Since organic polymeric materials are essentially flammable, consumption of flame retardant materials is increasing in accordance with these situations. In this coming five series of reviews, the recent technical situation of flame retardant polymeric materials are described. In this first review, the author would like to introduce the standards of flame retardant performance and enviromental safety regulations of flame retardant agents as the background of this technology.
