In 2004, "Photo Master Authorization" has been launched to certify the practical knowledge and expertise in imaging and cameras of the general public. Over 32,000 people applied from the beginning to the seventh examination carried out in 2009. We will introduce below the certificate system and its influence over the imaging systems in a transition period from silver-halide to digital technologies, and detail the examination focusing on how to set questions in purpose of extracting practical and useful knowledge from the wide variety of, but generally not-well-arranged information of the applicants.<br>
