Description

There are some precious, traditional cultural properties of Japan, such as Byobu and Fusuma-e, in foreign countries' possession. Then there are numerous historical works of art which we can only view for a limited period, for they are stored away to protect from degradation or to comply with the government's decision. Being able to reproduce those rarely seen cultural properties using advanced imaging technology and showing them to the general public would be very beneficial. Here, we would like to explain the past activities and technologies used in "Tsuzuri Project" which produces replica of Japanese cultural assets using large format inkjet printers, along its production flow.<br>
