Description

Results of international time comparison of clocks in the National Research Laboratory of Metrology (NRLM) have been published since 1980 in the Annual Reports of the Bureau International de l'Heure (BIH) , in UTC (BIH) minus UTC (NRLM). According to these results, it is recognized that the frequency stability of NRLM clocks has been improved from year to year, while the environmental conditions of the clocks in room temperature and relative humidity have been also improved since 1980. In Order to analize the instability sources, data in the BIH Annual Reports and those of domestic time comparison made by the TV method are used. After eliminating separable factors included in these data, it is found that the most part of instability is attributed to the international time comparison, but not to the NRLM clocks themselves due to imperfection of the environmental conditions. Instability of the former is estimated as 3.5×l0^(-13)/√τ (l0 days ≦ τ ≦ 80 days), and the latter as 0.6×10^(-13)/√τ (7 days ≦ τ ≦ 100 days) for 1983.
