Description
<p>Recent progress in the field of opto/nano-technology is now advancing the field of terahertz (THz) technology. THz research activities such as THz time-domain spectroscopy, the use of THz quantum cascade lasers, sub-THz wireless communication, sub-THz signal processing, and the use of THz devices, are rapidly expanding new frontiers of unexplored science and technology in anticipation of the birth of new industrial applications. To make the perspective clear, research on the current status and future prospects of THz technology was conducted in 2004. In this review, we summarize and propose to harmonize research in the fields of THz waves, THz photonics and THz electronics to bring forth new key technology for our future.</p>
