<p>Diffuse optical spectroscopy provides functional and structural information of a living body based on optical absorption and scattering properties. Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) can be achieved with simple and low cost instruments, and has been widely employed to in vivo measurements and imaging of biological tissue. In the present article, in vivo evaluations of biological chromophores, hemodynamics and changes in tissue structures by using the visible reflectance spectroscopy and colorimetry are described.</p>
