Description

Holography is a technique that can record and reconstruct the complete 3D information of objects. Generally coherent light, usually from a laser, is required to record holograms. This limits the use of holography for microscopic imaging of the incoherent light emitted from fluorescent objects or the general imaging of scenes by a camera. This obstacle has been overcome and it is now possible to create holograms from incoherent light since the invention of Fresnel incoherent correlation holography (FINCH). In this paper, we will describe a simplified configuration of FINCH using liquid crystal GRIN lenses and its application to super-resolution fluorescent microscope.
