Description

We give a brief overview of "holographic QCD" for JPS members. Applying the idea of gauge/string duality to QCD, we obtain a description of hadrons based on string theory. Using this description, a lot of properties of hadrons can be analyzed and the results are in reasonable agreement with the observations. We try to explain the basic idea and some of the interesting results in a way accessible to non-experts.
