Abstract

A survey of the resident’s recognition about Japanese crested ibis(Toki) in 10 years from the first release was carried out by the same method as previous research, which uses questionnaire. Firstly, positive recognition has been observed continuously while the number of Toki in the field has been increasing. Secondary, actual status of positive recognition could be identified separately during the first release to 6-10 years after. In this decade, the recognition, which to consider Toki as a "local symbol" has been deepened. However, worrying about agricultural point of view has been increasing. Residential recognition is still the level of “worry”, but in order to avoid it become “harmful birds” level, data collection on actual damage by Toki and its information dissemination are essential actions in near future.
