Abstract

A typical life plan for Japanese business people would be, receiving a university education, receiving on-the-job training and/or off-the-job in a company, engaging in business, and devoting himself/herself to his/her interests after a mandatory retirement. However many old-age persons would want to challenge something they can make use of their past experiences. This paper reports a case of the establishment and management of a small company by an elderly person. The company consists of old-aged retired workers who have professional knowledge and skills in sales, SE, planning, accounting, manufacturing, quality control, service, or development in big enterprise as well as ICT literacy. Moreover, the company utilizes telework to overcome the dispersed workplace. The case study suggests the possibility of "telework-enabled business utilizing retirees' experiences."
