Abstract

<p>Recent development of CAD / CAM system makes it possible to generate NC program relatively easily without being a skilled technician. However, it is currently the case that determination of cutting conditions for processing depends on tacit knowledge and experience of skilled technicians. So we have constructed a cutting condition decision support system using machine learning method with tool catalog data as database. We report on this system predicting cutting conditions from tool shape parameters and hardness of work material.</p>
