説明

Diamond-like carbon (DLC) is one of the most successful tribological coating due to their excellent low frictional properties. Recently, ultra-low friction (below F.C.: 0.04) of DLCs lubricated with organic friction modifiers such as a fatty acid has attracted to many researchers in the field of tribology. However, the low frictional mechanism has not been clarified yet, and especially the properties of an adsorbed film on DLCs has not been revealed completely. In this study, the properties of the fatty acid-derived adsorbed film on DLCs was investigated by using a frequency modulation atomic force microscopy (FM-AFM).
