Abstract

The paper attempts to initiate a new framework of international trade theory in the name of “Ricardo-Marx type”. It has a three-sector input-output structure with fixed technological coefficients and the price and quantity systems with natural resources and labor power as the primary factors of production. Its conclusion is, against the traditional theories, that a capitalist trading country cannot raise its profit rate and thus, will not specialize unless it has the comparative advantage in a capital-intensive sector. Countries, whether being advanced or developing, with the comparative advantage in the same capital-intensive sector would be in a serious trade conflict.
