Abstract
The hydraulic experiments were carried out to obtain the data of the water pressure fluctuation in coastal dike induced by wave action. As the results, the water pressure fluctuation gradually decayed as the distance from the foundation works of coastal dike increased. The correlation between the long-period waves and the water pressure fluctuation in coastal dike was confirmed, but the correlation with the short-period waves was not so. Also the water pressure fluctuation range in coastal dike was significantly less in contradistinction to long-period wave height range. The seepage flow analysis that simulated the experiment conditions showed a similar trend.
