Abstract

The purpose of this study was to clarify the relationship between motivation to enter medical school and vocational identity of medical students.Participants were 117 medical school students.As a result of multiple regression analysis,motivation to enter medical school such as"Aimlessness or Vague Idea of Career,"Heteronomous Motivation"lowered"Interpersonal Identity"."Consider Aptitude for Specific Profession"improves vocational identities with the exception of"Interpersonal identity".Also"Possibility Seeking"improves vocational identities,with the exception of"Social Identity".The results showed that it is important to consider the standard of motivation to enter medical school,in the study of medical student's career development.
