Abstract
In this paper, authors define Open Source Software (OSS) as the software which is freely distributed with its source codes through the internet. Authors describe the historical development of OSS and its famous cases: Red Hat Linux, Netscape Mozilla, Apple Darwin. As the results, authors describe three (3) types between community and user license: "Spontaneous OSS community and open license", "Guided OSS community and open license", "Guided OSS community and open license". In the view of relationship between a commercial company and an OSS community, authors emphasize the case in which modification of original source codes are not shared, and the form in which the community is positioned as a part of supply chain of the commercial company.
