Abstract

On March 14, 2015, the Hokuriku Shinkansen line started its operation between Nagano and Kanazawa Station. The “Nagano Shinkansen” operated between Tokyo and Nagano was extended to Joshin-etsu and the Hokuriku region, and it came to connect Tokyo to Kanazawa in Ishikawa Prefecture in about 2 hours and 30 minutes (about 3 hours and 45 minutes before the Shinkansen started its operation). Moreover, although it had been called the “Nagano Shinkansen” for convenience’ sake, it was renamed the “Hokuriku Shinkansen” at this time. The approach from the metropolitan area to “Toyama prefecture,” whose charm is nature including Tateyama and Kurobe, and “Ishikawa prefecture,” whose capital Kanazawa is popular for its history and tradition of Kaga-hyakumanngoku was greatly improved. In this study, what evaluations the Hokuriku Shinkansen has received by its users for these three years were investigated using online reviews.
