Abstract

<p>It has been confirmed by systematic and scientific clinical trials at HIMAC that carbon-ion irradiation is effective for cancer treatments. NIRS initiated research programs for developing a new compact-sized therapy accelerator to widely promote carbon therapy. This paper presents an outline of related studies.</p>
