Description

Microbubbles are very small air bubbles with diameters of the order less than several tens microns and have properties different from those of ordinary bubbles from the chemical and physical viewpoints. A crucial characteristic of the microbubble is that they are electrically charged on the gas-water interface (ζ-potential). The purpose of this study is to investigate the restoring vitality in the CO2-microbubble bathing produced by two types of microbubble generator (the slit type and the venturi type). The recovery of vitality is estimated by globopentaosylceramide (GPC) which is the biochemical marker of volition. It was confirmed that the restoring vitality was effectively attained by microbubble bath produced by the slit type generator. The microbubbles for the slit type showed high electrical potential on gas-water interface in contrast to those for the venture type. Therefore, the restoring vitality by CO2-microbubble bathing was affected by the ζ-potential of the microbubbles, and the microbubbles with high ζ-potential effectively enhanced to restore healthy levels.
