Abstract
<p>Marine creatures in ballast water of a ship may destroy the marine ecosystem. Abe et al. proposed a ballast water treatment system using the interaction between air bubbles and shock waves. We develop a numerical method on compressible air-water two-phase flow by using the Volume of Fluid Method (VOF) and Ghost Fluid Method (GFM), and the Riemann solver with surface tension term, we simulate the interaction with and without surface tension with various bubble radius. As a result, we clarify the surface tension effect for small micro-bubble.</p>
