- Detection of swell-shrink behavior of hydrogel by single walled carbon nanotube strain sensor

<p>In this study, we propose a method to detect the shrink/swell behavior of stimuli responsive hydrogel by a strain sensor using single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT). We fabricated a strain sensor by depositing SWCNT deposited on a thin polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) sheet. By forming stimuli responsive hydrogel on the PDMS sheet, the deformation of the PDMS sheet caused by the shrinking or swelling of the stimuli responsive hydrogel was converted to resistance change of the SWCNT strain sensor. Our approach could be effective for integrating chemical sensors with electrical devices.</p>
