Abstract

This study is intended to investigate the change in Kazuo Shinohara's view of architecture through conception of "ordinary" and "extraordinary". In order to achieve it, this paper focuses on two analyses. The first is the analysis of his texts. This shows how the conception of "ordinary" and "extraordinary" changed among his four styles. The second is the analysis of composition of his drawings of residential works. In this analysis, the distance and the number of space are calculated and the compositions are classified through cluster analysis. Finally, we analyze the correspondence between the first analysis and the second.
