Abstract

Introduction of Team-Based Learning (TBL) based on the ARCS motivation model was carried out in the following business education classes at Shokei University: "Office Studies", "Consumption Economics I", and "Consumption Economics II". This study discusses the attempted improvements made in these business education classes in the 2015 academic year based on the results of student class evaluations conducted during the 2014 academic year as well as the outcome of these efforts. As a result, it was found that the ARCS motivation model is a sound lesson design method. In addition, TBL, which has achieved a strong track record in the nursing system field, is suggested as an effective teaching method in business education classes as well based on proficiency test results and student class evaluations.
