<p>This study focuses on slip behavior of high strength bolted frictional joint with single frictional surface. One of these joints is a butt joint with single splice plate, another is a lap joint. In these joints, out-of-plane bending deformation in the direction of applied load occurs due to eccentricity of the cross sectional force. This paper discuss the slip strength of the joints compared with double-cover butt joint by finite element anaysis. Frictonal force between a connected plate and a splice plate of single butt joint and lap joint is approximately 15% lower than that of the double butt joint. However, the joint with single frictional surface also carries loads by the frictional resistance between washer and a splice plate.</p>
