Abstract

In Japan, intellectually disabled people usually work in employment support services. The differences between the programs offered by each facility have been overlooked although some facilities have developed as a result of different disability movements that follow different principles. This paper focused on three different facilities——Yutaka, AJU, and Wappa. A comparative analysis of the three revealed that all of these deal with disabilities according to their own meanings of support, and each of them connects different ways of work with “disabilities.”
