<p>  We have reviewed the public records and archives management of the Japanese government based on an analysis of reports about public records and archives management and administrative document file management registers. These reports compile information on each administrative document management, corporate documents, and the preservation and use of specified historical public records and archives ; they are issued by the Cabinet Office every year according to Articles 9, 12, and 26 of the law. However, few studies have used these resources.</p><p>  We have also analyzed the descriptions of administrative documents on the administrative document file management registers on the Internet.</p><p>  Based on these two analyses, we explore the current situation and issues regarding public records management and archives with regard to the relevant act.</p>
