Description

Marking the stoma site is very important for patients who require urinary diversion. The five principles of the Cleveland Clinic proposed for ostomy care are unsuitable for ureterocutaneostomy because the length of the harvested ureter is not always sufficient for all ureterostomies. Tubeless and single stoma are very important for the quality of life of patients. Constructing a tubeless ureterostomy through thick rectus muscle is very difficult and requires a longer ureter than that of a stoma positioned outside the rectus muscle. Parastomal hernia does not occur at stomas outside the rectus muscle of patients who undergo ureterocutaneostomy. The stoma site marking for ureterocutaneostomy should be enough if suitable area outside the rectus muscle is shown, instead of designating a limited point.
