Abstract
<p>Canon has developed the ODF (On Demand Fuser) for saving energy consumption, shorter first print out time and smaller size.</p><p>The wear loss of fixing film is important factor to determine a product life of the ODF. The top layer wear on fixing film is evaluated by durability test that requires huge man-hours because it cannot be predicted by common way. In addition, it is thought that micro-slip occurs in the nip of fuser unit. This study clarifies the mechanism of the top layer wear caused by micro-slip and describes the method of predicting wear loss by FEM (Finite Element Method).</p>
