<p>[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of reality shock on physical therapists by comparing their burnout scale results from before graduation and at three months of employment. [Participants and Methods] The participants were 237 physical therapy students. We conducted a group survey before graduation and a questionnaire by mail after three months of employment. [Results] The results of 46 respondents who responded twice were used as valid responses. Respondents with reality shock had significantly higher mental fatigue after employment. Respondents without reality shock had significantly lower depersonalization after employment and had a higher rate of workplace satisfaction and job satisfaction. [Conclusion] New physiotherapists were found to have reality shock after hiring and a tendency to suffer burnout.</p>
