- Evaluation of microscopic deformation behaviors of polyurethane foams by finite element analysis used CT-scanning data
抄録
<p>Open cell polyurethane foams are used in various products. Product design methods of open cell foams by numerical analysis have not been established. In this study, microscopic deformation behaviors of polyurethane foams under macroscopic compressive deformation were evaluated. Compression loading tests were conducted to obtain the mechanical properties of polyurethane foams and the test results were compared with the FEM analysis results. The mechanical properties of the polyurethane matrixes were assumed to be approximated by the isotropic hyperelastic model. The Yeoh model was applied to the potential energy function of the hyperelastic model. The structures of two polyurethane foams were obtained by the CT-scanning system. The analysis models were made by extracting the cube area from the CT-scanning data. The FEM analyses considering the microstructures and the matrixes could be carried out by introducing the identified material parameters to the potential energy function. From the experimental results and the simulated results with different boundary conditions, the influence of the different microstructures on the mechanical properties of the polyurethane foams was investigated.</p>
