Woking Fluid Behavior and Cooling Performance in Pulse Tube Refrigerator

Abstract

<p>Refrigerators are widely used in a wide range of fields such as space engineering, superconductivity, and medical fields. The pulse tube refrigerator has some advantages, such as low vibration, compact, and long life because there is no sliding part in the expansion part. In the present study, the relationship between the cooling performance and the operating frequency, operating pressure, inertance tube in the pulse tube refrigerator was clarified. Moreover, the working behavior fluid in pulse tube channel was visually observed by using tracer particle. Based on the image obtained by visualization observation, PIV analysis was performed to obtain the average absolute velocity of working fluid during compression or expansion process. The relationship between working fluid behavior and cooling performance was considered.</p>
