Description
To inhibit temperature rise of vehicle parts in the engine room, some vehicle models have been adopting After-cooling Control to operate the cooling fan for several minutes after engine key-off. In order to confirm the effect of After-cooling Control before the prototype car is made, a CFD method is required to predict the maximum temperatures of vehicle parts accurately. However, by After-cooling Control, the behavior of temperature becomes very complicated. To predict the maximum temperatures under the after-cooling condition, a high-speed computation method was developed. In this paper, the computational process and the prediction accuracy of maximum temperature are described.
