抄録

<p> The purpose of this study was to devise a teaching method which does not use a direct supporter in the learning of unicycle riding, and verify the validity of this teaching method through instructed training. Four students took part in this study. </p><p> The devised learning steps are as follows, </p><p> Stepl: The movement exercises before attempting to mount the unicycle (Three sub­ steps) </p><p> Step2: The points of movement involved m getting on and off a unicycle (Four sub-steps) </p><p> Step3: The point of motion involved in riding parallel to a wall (Four sub-steps) </p><p> Step4: The point of motion involved in riding by oneself from a fixed handrail (Three sub- steps) </p><p> The result of instructed training was as follows. All four students performed training for 10 times 1-hour sessions, and they were able to ride safely for at least 10 meters. </p><p> As a result of considering the contents of self-observation of the student's motion in the learning process and the video image record, it became clear that the method of instruction which does not use this direct supporter is effective. Especially, the three sub­ steps in Step 1, which is the feature of this teaching method, are important. Moreover, it is important to make right-and-left both sides and train in both directions in all the steps of this teaching method.</p>
