抄録
The three most important elements in light environment for plant production are the light intensity, the day-length (the light period in the case of artificial light), and the light quality. Light is essential to the growth based on the photosynthesis, and useful for controlling morphogenesis based on the photomorphogenesis and constituents. High quality crops can only be produced by appropriately controlling these three elements. This article explains about light environment controlling techniques and characteristics of light sources for producing high quality crops, using an example of artificial light utilization in plant factories.
